Manuel's Media Studies Blog

Today I was feeling rather tired. I decided I was not going to do research today, but instead work on other aspects of the project.  I spent most of the class period discussing with my teammate what type of music we could use in our film opening. After talking about it for quite some time, we sadly did not reach a conclusion.  We will continue to discuss this during the upcoming weeks and hopefully keep making progress with our project.  

Today, with my teammate Julieta, we discussed several aspects about our project.  Firstly, we decided on that genre we will work on for the project. The genre we chose is Drama. Teen Drama to be more specific.  We also talked about different possibilities on when and where to meet to work on the project outside of school. We agreed that we will most likely meet during the weekends.  We then had a guest speaker come into class and talk about their college experiences so we could not work on the project any further today.  I will keep updating the blog as we keep discussing different matters and making new decisions. 

I decided to start working on this project with a teammate primarily because I believe that it will benefit me in a lot of different ways. Firstly, it will improve my motivation given that there is now another person working with me and pitching in their effort and ideas. Secondly, the extra help with the project itself will make it advance more quickly and therefore make me want to work on it more.  I think this was the right choice, and with the upcoming weeks the progress we will make with my teammate, Julieta Gedikian, will show postive results.  

After thinking about it for a while, I decided to snap out of my "loner" moment and start working on this project with a teammate.  Yay! Hopefully, now that I have somebody else working with me I will be more motivated to actually get my stuff done. Not only that, but having another working brain helping me out with coming up with new ideas will have a positive effect on the overall result of our project.  I am excited to see how this turn of events will turn out in the upcoming weeks and how it will reflect on the project itself.
